Opened in 1907 by the Sisters of Misericordia, Rush Oak Park Hospital was the first hospital in the area. Today it is firmly rooted in history - and invested in the future.
The hospital has received even more recognition as a center for excellence since its affiliation with the Rush System for Health. In 1997 Rush University Medical Center assumed full management of the hospital's operations, bringing its renowned services, programs, and physicians to Rush Oak Park Hospital.
The hospital is also affiliated with Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare, Inc. As an affiliate of this Catholic housing and healthcare ministry, Rush Oak Park Hospital is committed to a healing ministry by providing exceptional and compassionate health care service that promotes the dignity and well being of the people it serves.
The Rush Oak Park Hospital campus includes the hospital's Center for Rehabilitation, one of the few acute rehab centers in the area, managed by Marianjoy Rehabilitation Hospital; the Breast Center, state-of-the-art Interventional Radiology and Surgical suites; and a comprehensive Center for Diabetes and Endocrine Care with an American Diabetes Association-approved Education Program and board-certified endocrinologists.
Rush Oak Park Hospital's Emergency Room is a comprehensive emergency department, staffed with a board-certified physician 24 hours a day. The mission of our ER is to provide exceptional quality of care with the shortest possible waiting times.
The campus is also home to the 135,000 sq. ft. Rush Medical Office Building, housing and advanced MRI operated in cooperation with Oak Park Imaging Services, LLC, the Rush Pain Management Center, the Rush Outpatient Pharmacy, and approximately 30 medical offices. Off-campus, the Rush Oak Park Physicians' Group has practices in Oak Park, Berwyn, Hillside, Elmwood Park, and North Riverside.
