Rush Oak Park Hospital Auxiliary

Auxiliary Members

Founded in 1907, the Auxiliary of Rush Oak Park Hospital has been a gateway for involvement in a health care institution that has served the community for more than 100 years.

Driven by a spirit of giving, Auxiliary members volunteer their time and service in clinical and non-clinical areas throughout the hospital. They provide invaluable support and raise money to enhance the hospital environment with new medical equipment — a service that helps to ensure that Rush Oak Park Hospital provides the highest quality of health care to patients.

Every year the Auxiliary holds a golf classic, its major fundraiser. Funds raised at this year's 6th Annual Golf Classic on Monday, Sept. 14, will support the purchase of a Vmax Encore pulmonary function testing machine. The equipment will assist in identifying types of lung disorders and establishing courses of therapy for them.

Over the past five years the golf outings have raised more than $70,000, and donations have been used to benefit bariatric patients, and to purchase patient care equipment for the Intensive Care Unit, Same Day Surgery Unit, Center for Diabetes and Endocrine Care, and Breast Center.

With the support of many volunteers, the Auxiliary also runs the Gift Shop and organizes social events, from wine tastings to salsa dancing, to increase the involvement of employees. The Auxiliary also reaches out to the community during the holiday season with an annual tree lighting ceremony and dedication of the love light memorial tree.
