Rush Oak Park Hospital volunteers are integral partners in providing care to patients and distributing hospital services.

Placement is based on your personal interests, availability, general health, skills and experience, as well as specific department needs.

Volunteers can be as young as 14 years old. High school and college students can fulfill their community service requirements. However, there is a required minimum time commitment of 40 hours in a three-month period.  The majority of adult (18 years and older) volunteer positions require a long-term time commitment of six months to one year, with a minimum of one four-hour shift per week. Short-term seasonal and/or project-based volunteer positions are available periodically to qualified applicants.
