Oak Park Hospital Urges Medicaid Restoration Online

Oak Park, IL (June 3, 2002) — Members of the community are being urged to join the employees of Oak Park Hospital (OPH) to register their opinion on the proposed $200 million cut in Illinois hospital payments, by logging on to www.fixmedicaid.org, and then clicking “Act Now.”

The Web site, which allows those with internet access to contact their local legislators and Gov. George Ryan, has been set up by the Illinois Hospital Association in order to convince lawmakers that cutting millions in hospital payments will do irrevocable harm to Illinois communities, businesses, workers, and the entire state health care system.

“We urge people to take five minutes of their time to log on to the internet, in order to help keep all of our local health care institutions financially viable,” said OPH President and CEO Bruce Elegant.
