Breast Center
Prompt Evaluation & Treatment
The Breast Center's team of specialists uses up-to-the-minute and proven diagnostic tools to offer prompt evaluation and treatment of breast disease. Radiologists, oncologists, surgeons, pathologists, nurses, technologists and therapists work as a team to develop a plan of care for each patient.
Following a mammogram, the Center will, in most cases, have results within 24 hours. If an abnormality or lump is detected, staff uses a variety of methods—including ultrasound, fine needle aspiration, needle localization, stereotactic breast biopsy and ultrasound-guided core biopsy—to make an accurate diagnosis.
If cancer is detected, treatment options may depend on the severity of the cancer and can include:
- Lumpectomy
- Mastectomy
- Reconstructive surgery
- Chemotherapy
- Hormonal therapy
