Levels of Care

Inpatient Rehabilitation

At Rush Oak Park Hospital, inpatient medical needs can be met at a moment's notice on site, including medical tests. Depending on your insurance, most treatments are included in coverage.

Acute Inpatient Rehabilitation

Developed for patients requiring intensive rehabilitation and 24-hour hospital support, the center's Acute Inpatient Rehabilitation program provides ongoing medical intervention and comprehensive rehabilitation. Every patient receives rehabilitation for about three hours a day, six days a week. Our patients' goal is to return to their homes and families. Our goal is to help our patients transition to home or to another level of care through a collaborative effort between the patient and our nursing and therapy staff.

Skilled Care

Patients admitted to our Skilled Care Unit need an inpatient care setting, but do not require full 24-hour medical support. The amount of therapy services received is based on clinical need and the patient's ability to participate. Case managers follow the patient's progress and work closely with the treatment team to place the patient in the appropriate level of care as needs and goals evolve.

Whether patients stay directly in the Center for Rehabilitation or are transferred to our Skilled Care Unit, they receive round-the-clock care and attention.

Home Therapies

Patients leaving the inpatient level of care usually need additional therapies. Homebound patients may be referred for home therapies from a number of home health agencies.

Outpatient Rehabilitation

For some, our Outpatient Rehabilitation program will be the final stage of a successful treatment program, helping ease the transition to everyday life. Others may need Outpatient Rehabilitation only. Treatment may involve physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, or other specialized services.

Outpatient therapies may also complement other programs offered at Rush Oak Park Hospital, such as our Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program, the Rush Pain Center, and the Wound Care Center®.

Industrial Health

The Industrial Health program at Rush Oak Park Hospital's Center for Rehabilitation is a certified Isernhagan Work System facility. We offer a complete package of services from prevention to rehabilitation. The programs have been developed to promote workplace wellness, prevent on-the-job injuries and ensure a safe and speedy return to work for injured employees.
