Spiritual Services/Chapel
Wellness goes beyond medical care, whether you are spending a single night at Rush Oak Park Hospital or being admitted for an extended stay. For many patients, their spiritual path forms a base from which physical healing emerges. While the doctors, nurses and other health care providers work on your body, a team under the direction of the Wheaton Franciscan Sisters is available to ensure your dignity and worth regardless of your religious affiliation.
A Spiritual Care team member is assigned to each unit of the hospital and is available at all hours, but the hospital welcomes and encourages visits from clergy of all faiths.
The spectrum of Spiritual Care services includes a chapel open 24 hours a day, counseling and support, Catholic Mass at 4 p.m. Saturday, and sacramental ministry (including Holy Communion for Catholic patients).
